Possible Manage only option for ASB2004

Hey guys, not sure if this issue has been addressed before or how many of you were a fan of the manage only mode of high heat (which has been removed this year). What I'm doing is putting the game on generate count, then instead of using the manage only option thats built into the game (I hear that this yeilds really bad reults, too many k's - etc), then I change all players to "CPU control" , both offense and defense. You don't get to pick the pitches or tell the computer when to swing, but I think this is more like real "managing" anyway. I'm going to play a few games and give it a shot. Love to hear the resposes from the manage only crowd, if there is one around here.

I'm hoping the Acclaim folks work out the kinks (repetitive bad offense, especially) for next years game... as it was, I got bored after a season of play... but, yes, report back on how this strategy works.

I use Manage Only mode without Generate Count , I get realistic Ks but seems to be low scoring games.

Ok, the first game I played using this method went pretty well. I didn't write down the Box score , but I beat the Pirates 6-2. I got 9 hits and the pirates got 6. Jose Lima (I'm in my second season) pitched 6 innings before giving way to Joey Hamilton for the 3 inning save.

Overall I'm pleased with the first game. I struck out 8 in six innings with Lima, and Hamilton struck out 1 in 3 innings. Strikeouts therefore appear reasonable. I struck out 11 times in 9 innings. Lieberthal hit a 3 run homerun.
