How Long until EA can make a Baseball game?

How long until 2k's hold on the license is up?

The reason I ask is I was at a Washington Nationals game on friday night. I had pretty decent seats, only 7 rows up from the Nats dugout, and noticed something about one of the guys taking photos. He has a camera emblazoned with EA logos on it an also a polo shirt with a EA logo on it. He was taking pictures of pretty much everything. So, I got to wondering if he is an EA employee and taking pictures Why? They don't have a license to make the games at the moment.

I thought it was something like that. I was just a bit confused seeing what appeared to be an EA employee taking pictures of baseball years before they can make one.
