High Heat 2k4 CAN be played on Windows Vista

I know a lot of guys, including me, could not find a way to play this game on Vista. Kvegas wanted me to find some of my files to forward to him and came up with this solution.

Go to SENDSPACE and download this zipped file.

Follow the instructions. To start the game do this....

START
MY COMPUTER
click on the CD ROM icon for High Heat
It will give you a window that says you must be the adminstrator to INSTALL this program. Click OK.

The installer window will open. Just click on PLAY HIGH HEAT and your done.

Now the file was supposedly done by Beanball, but I visited his site and he has NO downloads for HH2k4, so I emailed him. He said he did NOT do a mod for this, so I don't know why the READ ME gives him credit. Anyway, if anyone wants me to start posting modded files for downloading, just let me know.

If a mod here can close the other HH thread I started and merge it here, that would be fine.

So fellas, thanks to Kvegas, HH2k4 is NOT dead for Vista owners.

also don't forget that when playing on a widescreen monitor or lcd tv that you can set HH2004 to a widescreen resolution in the options. it makes a heck of a difference in the looks of the game, in the fact that it's not stretched.

Good find. Keep an eye out for wierd things happening with your system for a few weeks. I've thought I was ut of the woods before with issues like this, but then some WIERD stuff started happening.

For exmple, one day my Windows Vista decided to stop working on the grounds that I pirated the OS. I DID NOT pirate the OS, but it thought I did. I hadto go into safe mode and system restore, then about a week later I read that things like this happen when yu install a game that is not supported by Vista.

FWIW, I tried a couple of my old games a few weeks ago - HH2004 and Nascar Racing 2002 (Papyrus), and both worked perfectly. They both used to hang during installation, but I think MS must have released a service pack update that fixed those installation issues.

I did have to do the "run as administrator" thing to get it to work, but I didn't need the file from above.

Thanks for keeping the faith Jim! Great to see both of those games running on my current rig, especially Nascar - I could never run it at full spec on my old PC. Runs like a champ now.

I can't find the no cd patch for HH2004. The link here points to one but it isn't there anymore. Could one of you folks help me with this? Send it to me or something?

Go to gamecopyworld and search for hh2004 you will find a no cd patch there.

Should be called something like gruhhb2k4cd.rar
