I know a majority of guys on here are MLB only, but I swear if SCEA made a college game it would be very successful. Just the ambiance and the little things about the NCAA game would be an amazing game to see done by the developers of SCEA....

SCEA also used to make the a football game and a basketball.

You're asking about a college baseball game.

While I'd dig it, I disagree that it'd be a runaway success. EA tried it a couple years ago, and I think the lack of recognition of college baseball players hurts a lot. One of the reasons The Show is so successful is that the fans make a strong connection to the players. College baseball just doesn't have a country-wide following like football or basketball... lots of hardcore MLB fans could care less about their college team and couldn't name their players.

If game producers are pulling out of NCAA basketball (a much more commercially viable sport to make a game in), I think that tells you all you need to know.

But the end result (gameplay) determined the fate of NCAA Basketball. If 2k would have never lost their license to EA, we would be talking about how amazing the college hoops game is right now.

In regards to college baseball, my point is that since SCEA makes such a great game already with the Show, that if u translate that to the NCAA game, it would be a success.

I think it's more than just the name of the product when it comes to baseball.

College Football is a different story. People love college football and the EA brand is huge. Both together and you get sales success (comparatively speaking with other college brands).

But, at the time EA made their college baseball game, the consensus amongst a majority of baseball fans was that MVP Baseball was the marquee baseball title on the market.

Yes, SCEA was winning fans over with their MLB title, but it was only the beginning of what would become the majority accepted baseball title.

Considering that and the lack of success for the college baseball title with EA, I imagine that SCEA wouldn't have much more success by stepping into that territory.

The reality is: college baseball is not appealing to enough of the gaming market.

Thats a good point. There wasn't one person on my college team that didn't own the game, but I don't think that really proves much other than college baseball players (shocker) like college baseball. (Much like Watson's situation being in a college baseball town).

I don't think that goes far in saying what the masses like, and it isn't much different with the users here. Of course we have a good portion of sport fans who would love another college baseball game, but in the mass scheme, I imagine we are in the minority.

I would love to play a college baseball game, especially if it had SCEA's development team (if they found a way to do this without having the MLB product suffer).

However, I agree that we are in the minority and I think that's what EA faced with their title.
