    A Good Fastball?

Anyone know what a good fastball is for a 15 year old and a 6 year old?
Kris Bryant doesn't hit homeruns, he destroys pitcher's dreams. #Bryantwatch

at 15 you need to have a consistent 70 mph fastball

I honestly believe at 15 a good fastball is one that can be located properly. Instead of worrying about molding him into a good thrower, worry about molding him into a good pitcher. Same goes for the 6 year old.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Like how far along in their development they are, do they have good mechanics, can they repeat those mechanics, basically are they doing everything to maximize their potential.

I would say anywhere between 65 and 75 mph. Also remember, pitching is not just about speed. Just ask guys like Maddux, Lilly, and Moyer. Location is the most important thing.

Also, I highly recommend not teaching any kid to throw a curveball. A slider is much less torque on the elbow.

        Hope this helps.

I don't know how to throw a slider. How do you?

Google is usually the best place to go with such questions. Try checking one of these
But in all seriousness, you're much more likely to find a better answer there then you would here.

At 15 throw strikes. Everyone at 15 really throws 10mph slower than what they and everyone else thinks, haha.

I really saw this when I started scouting. "You got to see this kid, he throws 90!" na he really throws 82mph. 70 at the high school level is a lot quicker than most people realize.
