Is MLB the Show 11 that much better?

Hey guys, ive always respected the OS community opinion so i come to you with this question, is mlb the show 11 that much better than mlb 2k11? i want to buy mlb 2k11 personally because im looking for a change in a baseball experience and i love certain features that 2k has to offer (trade finder). after playing mlb the show for the last two seasons i find the game to be very good however i feel that its missing something. so please help me, will i be wasting $60 if i buy mlb 2k 11?

I don't know where else to post this....neither game's forums want me posting this so hopefully you guys can help me here. i'm going to the store tonite and im buying one of them, so please help me decide which one.

2K is a good and fun game. In it's current state is has some bugs so if you are of the breed who has conniption fits over those type of things it may not be for you. With all it's flaws I'm still loving it, Inside Edge is what really sells it for me.

I have a habit of throwing fastballs in the zone on 0-0 counts against leadoff hitters. Well, I'm trying to win the million dollars and the Astros leadoff hitter (Bourne) is killing me. He's even going after my fastballs out of the zone and blooping them for hits. So I went into the roster manager and checked his Inside Edge report. Sure enough it says he's aggressive with fastball early in the count with a .364 avg. His tendencies are to lay off sliders and can't hit 0-2 curveballs.

This sort of thing is awesome to me, there's tons of data like how aggressive they are with each count and the batting avg for most types of pitches etc. But again it's a clunky game so buyer beware, I think they should've sold it for $40 since int's unfinished but hopefully they make it right with a patch.

Not sure why you had to start a whole new thread as there's already a comparison thread going.

It comes down to one thing IMO: Do you like arcade fun (2K11), or do you prefer a game with controls that require skill (The Show)? 2K11 has timing-only hitting. It's ridiculously easy to hit the ball. Seriously, you can swing with your eyes closed and still make contact a good percentage of the time. I like the game a lot, but it often feels like I'm playing a kiddie's version of video baseball when I play. As one of the 2K developer's stated, the controls were dumbed-down because "pick up and play gamers couldn't figure them out." That about says all you need to know.
