Yeah The Show is just too slow-paced for my tastes, and 2K's brand of baseball just ain't my style at all.

Definitely been a Power Pros guy since the PS2 days, and this is my baseball game of the year so far.

i played the MLB 2k series since the start, world series baseball etc or whatever it was called. really liked 2k5, then after that it seemed all down hill!! i bought 2K8 and then returned it a week later. first year i bought the game since then bc i was playing The Show.

as great as The Show is, even on fast pace game setting, just takes to long to play a game of baseball. after every game i wanted to take a freaking nap bc it bored me to death lol.

so i went back to 2k this year, played a solid game of baseball pre patch, since then, its like 2k8 again. i think im done with this series altogether now. pre patch, realistic results for most part (online league that is), 25 to 35 min games. then post patch a glorified 9 inning HR derby, 45 to 60 min games, no thanks!!

It's amazing how great it is just to be able to play a game of baseball in 20 minutes or less and still get realistic stats.

Who knows, I might actually finish a 162-game season for the first time since the original SNES Ken Griffey Jr. game.

lol.. thats the last time i do believe i played them all as well.

i just seen that MLB Power Pros was released last year for the iphone etc. but then was removed from the app store. i cant find out why it was removed though. bc it had real teams and players? i see a Power Pro app in the store but its just generic teams.

Just got the new update! It unlocks my bobble mode and Home run derby. However it did not unlock the edit player feature. Homerun derby is kinda fun and the default is the real homerun derby lineup but it can be changed. With the my bobble mode I have yet to try however it appears that you can pick any player in the MLB and play through a season. You can also edit some of these players but again I have not tried it yet. The all star teams and stadiums are also unlocked. I would say buy the update because my bobble looks like it could be very fun and have a little depth.

Ok, I may have to fork over that five-spot now.

Can you make a custom player to take through the My Bobble season? Or is it limited to current MLB guys?

It gives you the option to use an mlb player or to edit one. I assume you can change every thing including the name and equipment

Ya, My guess would have been half of what it cost for the game for the DLC. But I guess we will see soon.

Looks like my guess was right, the DLC was 5$ bucks. So there is one DLC left right? Konami said they planned three correct? So another guess here would be the 3rd would also be 5$, so you have somewhere near a complete updated PowerPros game for around 20$.

A little off topic but watching the trailer for Jikkyou Pro 11 makes me wish they would actually have a full release on PS3 and 360.

the only downside to my bobble mode, is that when you edit a player, you get stuck with their career stats. you cant edit a pitcher into a fielder, boo. best options are one player on the Mariners that has 11 games played in his career and 37 at bats, and another on the Cardinals with 11 games played and 34 at bats..

i went to the Mariners, i figure i will play this mode a ton bc all you do is bat and it will be nice to see the stats down the line and 95% of them be mine so to speak..

ps.. home run derby is addicting!!

can anyone see if the new dlc for the game updated the rosters...like K-rod the the brewers?????They didnt even have him on the mets...i think hes still on the angels on this game!

Has anyone hit or seen a homerun hit foul pole in a game or in HR derby?

I saw it in the old powerpros game, but wasn;t sure if the poles have any collision detection since I have not seen it yet in this game.

I am loving this game and am in game 20 of my season with the Cardinals. (I dont even like baseball but this game is so much fun)

My biggest gripe with the game is I cannot find a way to have another user controlled player come in and control a team I am playing against in my season. Is there an option to do this in the game? If not that would be a huge oversight by the devs IMO...

There is a different Francisco Rodriguez on the Angels. He is on the DL right now.

I got excited at 1st too when going through the rosters. Til I saw there was another person with the same name. I'm glad he got traded. It was annoying as hell not having him on the Mets to close while playing.
