same things gos for pitching... if they know they can get you out a certain way or did in a previous at bat with it... they will go with it until you can prove you can hit it... or something along those lines... well that is it for me... im out... lol i would never get a hit or a batter out lol....

Even if it happens it would take EA quite some time to get a game on par with the Show. We won't see anything relevant from EA until well into the next gen of consoles. My guess into the future says MLB the Show will be the go to title for quite a few years.

They didn't develop the MVP series at Tiburon (EA's Orlando studio), so Kolbe might still be ok.

Although in recent years they have been taking on projects from other studios so you never know.

          not necessarily

if they were planning on releasing once the contract expires, they could have got an early start on development of the game and been working on it for longer time than usual. It's not like they're some small company taking their first dip in baseball games either, so the "new kid on the block" thing isn't the same when it comes to EA

I purchased my PS3 for The Show. I am purchasing my Vita for the Show, but if EA ever produced another PC Baseball game that could be modded, I would be right back in the PC again modding stadiums.

There were some excellent mods for stadiums in high heat. As an overall game it paled in comparison to the show but in some areas it was better. For example, manage mode was....never mind.

Yeah, but they most likely did not do that because it would have been a big risk on their part. What if they started developing a game, assuming that Take-Two would not re-up, but then they (Take-Two) do just that. Then EA would have dumped tons of time and money into developing a game that they couldn't release. It's obvious NOW that Take-Two will absolutely not renew, but even as recently as a year ago, it was only "probably", not for sure.

EA doesn't let things like time and money stand in their way. If they want the MLB license bad enough, I'm sure they have the resources to purchase it.

My hope is that MLB has the foresight to see how well The Show shines a positive light on their sport, and doesn't price them out of the market. MLB just taking a HUGE cash grab from 2K didn't do them any good in the long run. Bringing new fans to the game thru video games should be their goal, and I really don't think 2K does/did a good job of that.

I also bought a PS3 just for playing The Show.

By the way, I use to do audio for their PC game, after Hory left. I remember your stadium mods, great work!

If is a huge key word there. Because EA had a chance to snap it up 2005 and declined. They surely had the resources to outbid Take -Two but chose not to. If the MLBPA is still insistent on an exclusive license, EA might not even be interested. I know that sounds funny to hear given what we know about the NFL license, but they are two different beasts. The NFL license is worth it to them because Madden is one of their top money makers. As well as MVP sold, it wasn't nearly the juggernaut that Madden is.

Have you been around for the last seven years? It took EA four of those to even get referees back on the field in their football games when we transitioned to current gen. Your idea is nice in theory, but at this point it's more fantasy than reality... EA has done nothing recently on new hardware to prove otherwise.
