I don't think MLB will have an exclusive license because it isn't worth it. Football sells many more copies then baseball does and I don't think it would be worth it financially to pay for an exclusive license.
Do you really care where I sent this from?MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
I own a band check it outComment

I know Kolbe is doing Madden and that only means good things for Madden fans but if EA does baseball not to ask his input would be a mistake IMO. We will see, but regardless its going to be interesting !Comment

I may be wrong, but I do not believe that they can work on an "MLB" game (EA) without first having a license due to the "checks and balances" that are involved. And it is not as easy as swapping out "team names and logo/jersey art" from generics as well.
It took EA years and years to come out with MVP to be what it was (mostly nostalgia driven) after the Triple Play debacle we all should remember that plagued them.
And then there is the current state of Madden, NBA Elite problem, and no longer the MVP team. So do not expect a miracle with their first outing. Plus I do not believe EA will pick up another exclusive. Especially with the notoriety The Show has on not only the Baseball gaming industry, but Sports Gaming industry.
It just is not worth the coin with what 2K has done with it and set the viewpoint of "exclusives" in gamers eyes. When they can spend less on a regular license and still have the same competition to deal with with The Show since it is a Sony product exclusive.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 02-13-2012, 03:20 AM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

2K got played when they signed that horrid agreement with MLB. MLB I think knew they just lost the NFL license and needed something to save face, and MLB bent them over a chair. EA backed off because they were (surprisingly) smart enough to see the money being spent was way too much for a baseball license. I suspect any license signed by whomever will be much more in-line with whats equitable today and make sense. I *don't* think that company will be 2K. MLB has to be blind and deaf if they think 2K is on the way towards making a baseball game that sells well and improves it's fan base.Steam: BahnzoComment

Peter Moore informed us that the "majority" of the team that worked on the MVP Baseball series are still employed at EA Sports. "There’s enough people at Sports who would say 'I’m in.'
Sony's MLB The Show franchise is king of the hill right now, but MVP was highly rated at the time. What do you think? Should EA Sports pursue MVP again?Last edited by Bahnzo; 02-13-2012, 04:12 AM.Steam: BahnzoComment
