    Time to address the Systems.

I'm getting very confused and worried about the decisions I'll be forced to make soon. I need to get either an XBox or a PS2, that goes without saying. The problem is that each system has something going for it and something to kill that buzz. Currently I only have a Gamecube, so you can kinda see my dillema with how they most likely won't have ASB 2005 coming out on it, and I want a better system with more games and better features. I really need help here. I've made some pros and cons about each system:

    Playstation 2 -

    Pros

Free Internet Access for certain games
    Better Games
    Backwards Compatible
    Possibility of lasting longer

    Cons

Costs more to buy for less performance
Might last just as long as the Xbox (which could be out of date by next Christmas)
    Said to have delicate parts
Not as good graphics as the XBox
    Reuires Memory Cards

    XBox -

    Pros

Internet Access for 1 year $50
Ability to add music to games
Ability to save games to hard drive
    better graphics

    Cons

Probably the one next-gen console with the best chance of having a predecessor by next christmas
    Not Backwards Compatible
Internet Access for even the simplest things costs the $50 a year
Some games cannot be saved to Hard Drive
There aren't many good games for the system

What I've broken it down to for the most important things I'll need in my system are performance, backwards compatible, and internet access. The problem is that the XBox has such better performance that it's...REALLY HARD to decide....especially when there's a good chance the XBox 2 will be out either November 2004 or before summer 2005. Sony isn't in any trouble like Microsoft might be, they can wait 2-3 years to release the PS3. Microsoft is buying up all these great licenses for making the XBox 2 so quickly that it would make one greatly suspicious as to whether or not it will be out as late as they make it out to be. I need a system that can last me 2-3 years and that the company won't just stop making games for once it becomes "obsolete". Sony has a habit of doing just that and the PS2 is Backwards Compatible. I would hope you'd see my dillema here. Any help is appreciated. My next ASB adventure depends greatly on what system I get next!

Who told you it might not be on GameCube?

Acclaim withdrew from making games for Nintendo like 3 months ago. I thought everyone knew that.

Why is backwards compatibility such an issue? If you have games from an old system that you still play, wouldn't you then also own the OLD system? One thing you left off is loading and saving times, with both xbox and GC having times that blow away the PS2, and its obvious everytime you boot it up.

I've also heard that ASB probably wont be on GC, but hopefully with the lower price sales should go up and that MIGHT encourage acclaim to at least try a GC version

Here we go to draw out the [censored you naughty boy] of each system. Regardless of performance, I'm not going to get the strongest systems since it's the strongest out there. Anyways, just as long as they improved this years edition from last years edition, i'll be happy. All I know it's coming out on the PS2 and XBOX.

                      "Not Backwards Compatible"

Lastly, XBOX would not have this because it's the first system from the company.

"Might last just as long as the Xbox (which could be out of date by next Christmas)"

NOt really, there are games still coming out and it doesn't seem to be the end just yet.
