      Re: Questions for ASB Man

      ASB-Man I have only one concern…

First off let me tell you that I am a HUGE fan of the ASB series. In fact, if you were to look back at my posting history, you’d find that 80% of my posts are either applauding or defending your product. And, with the newly added the “behind the pitcher” camera view… I may never play another sports title again

My concern is this… While watching the VERY early videos from the “behind the pitcher” camera view, it looks like the camera view jumps to the fielding view VERY early. I mean, it looks like the camera immediately pans to behind the fielder before the ball even makes contact w/ the bat. “IF” you cant get an idea of which direction the ball is heading before the camera switches angles…

My question… How are you supposed to anticipate which fielder you will be controlling when the ball is hit?

Yes, I KNOW it’s early. But, after last year’s supreme effort & to your credit... I expect nothing less than baseball nirvana this season from ASB “05”

Ps… Don’t get frustrated, the infamous “Crouch” isn’t a game wrecker

      Thank you...

Does anyone know if minor leaguers accumulate stats?
Also, will players progress throughout the year, or just at the end of each season/spring training?

                  Re: Questions for ASB Man

I have a couple questions. But first, I want you to know that I am a diehard ASB fan, I own all the N64 games, and thought ASB2004 was a couple small details away from being truly awesome.

                  1. Did you make it harder to steal bases? It seems like it was incredibly easy for GREG VAUGHN to steal a ton of bases for me.

                  2. Along the same lines, did you fix the pitcher pick offs? I didn't bother trying to pick anyone off, since everytime I threw it over to first, before the ball left my hand the guy was already back.

                  3. When creating a player, can you determine his age? I thought that was one of ASB 2004's biggest goofs, randomly generated ages for created players.

                  4. What have you done to make the game, well....harder. I was using the Twins in a Franchise, and had to lower the ratings of all my players, since I was winning almost every game. I had pitcher aid and strike zones turned off, and I still won about 5 out of every 6 games.

                  5. Has the Gold Glove Awards selections been fixed. I hated seeing guys like Cocoa Crisp winning the CF gold glove instead of Torii Hunter.

                  6. Have you made it easier to edit rosters outside of the game, for the people who can't download rosters? For example, is the game less strict this time, or will it still complain when you try to trade a LF for a COF?

                  7. This one is a little out there, but I'll throw it up anyways. In online play, have you implemented an online 5 man rotation? I hate the thought of having to ALWAYS play Pedro and the Red Sox with my Twins. It would be nice if you couldn't use the same starting pitcher in every single online game.

If you could answer any of these questions, I would much appreciate it.

Never played ASB ,always played other baseball series,EA,WSB......And I have yet to play a game where you as a fielder or hitter got the "true feeling of hitting or running done a shot in the gap ,deep fly or a trailing liner down the line. When the camera just shows the field and a shadow or circle where the ball is going to land this kills the feeling of the depth of the hit.Now if this "fielder cam" gives you any sense of this I think I will be converted! Just like a little more info on how the camera tracks the ball, field of play, and your player with relation to this. ..thanks...c..ya
