MVP 14 or MVP 15 (Next Gen)
I think EA should give up the basketball license i mean 3 years without a game and it seriously could be 4 who knows if they even release one this year. Its time for EA to go back to their roots... Baseball. I am a huge MLB the show fan but MVP Baseball 2005 was one of my favorite games ever, i played the game to death and id like to see EA give it another try. 2k more than likely is done with baseball after this year and id like to see EA pick up the license and work on a game for maybe the 2015 season (dont know if they would have time for a game next year). Start the next-gen consoles with a new baseball series from EA. Just a thought and i dont think im alone on this.MLB: Atlanta Braves
NCAA: Tennessee Vols
NBA: Memphis Grizzlies
NFL: Tennessee TitansTags: None -

Re: MVP 14 or MVP 15 (Next Gen)
I wish EA would go back to making an MLB game too,
but if they cannot compete with the 2k series in basketball, there is no way they could do the same with SCEA in baseball, IMOComment

This means nothing. SCEA sure couldn't compete with 2K in basketball either with their abysmal NBA series and yet they make The Show.Comment

I find this ignorant. MVP Baseball 2005 was on it's way to be something outstanding.Comment

Re: MVP 14 or MVP 15 (Next Gen)
because they won't spend the money they would need to. The majority of their monies is gonna go to Madden, always.
Same for SCEA, they couldn't continue to throw money at the Show & their NBA game, SCEA could have poured more resources to NBA, but at what price to the Show.
If EA had wanted to outspend 2k back in '06 for exclusive rights to MLB, & continue to develop MVP they would have, but with the cash cow that was Madden, it didn;t make sense to them to risk taking their eyes off the prize.
Re:Madden.
Heck, EA had no competition with their NASCAR brand, & that didn;t stop
them from dropping that title, Could they have diverted money & talent
from football to NASCAR? Sure, but why risk the golden goose?
I think EA, if they chose to get back into MLB, would probably fare better than 2k, but they would have to find their niche on Xbox, IMO.
With all things being equal, EA could overtake the Show, but I don't see that happening as they won't treat MLB as an equal to NFL. I think the way it's going to shake out is EA will continue to have the NFL as their baby,
SCEA the same with MLB & 2k w/NBA.
I don't think these three companies will "rock their on boat" to try & bite off more than they can chew.
They each know the valuable lesson of the dog with the bone in his mouth seeing his own reflection in the water & know better than dropping their bone to get the "other" bone.
