    The Problem With The Show

We had a kind of an incoherent 2K fan bash The Show today. Since he looked dumb and illiterate, the mod left his comment and proceeded let the usual Show trolls come in and make fun of him. So I thought maybe we could continue the discussion here.

Are you saying that The Show is a terrible game and that MLB 2K12 blows it out of the water, or that MLB 2K12 is terrible and The Show blows it out of the water?
The confusion is that The Show isn't really a game. It's a nice assemblage of cutscenes and weak simulation. It's got all the neat stuff like "little things" and rule 5 drafts. But the AI can't handle it, so gamers "get to" play as all 30 teams. Th entire franchise mode is pretty much a joke.

The gameplay is so bad that many just put it on auto and watch the game play out. They don't want to field or run the bases. There is no real strategy to pitching and hitting. But man, it looks so good!

It really is an excellent example of dumbing down the sports gamer.

A bit harsh on the Show, no?

While I agree with some of your points, the gameplay is NOT bad. No way Jose.

I agree that the pitching/hitting interface requires almost no strategy [which is my major complaint with the game since I started playing it on the ps2] and pales in comparison to 2k. But the gameplay plays out super nice, in regards to visuals, presentation and flow. It's a work of art.
The franchise mode which has grown stale has been worked on this year, in a big way, with all new scouting, training and some nice presentation upgrades.

Yes I do wish they would focus on the nuts and bolts of pitching and hitting on ps4 [along with stats!].

Its a visual treat, now give me the meat!
Ok that sounded a bit off.

But anyways, yes there are problems with the Show, but there are problems with any game. Its postives far outweight the negatives and it gets a lot of the important stuff right.
But it doesn't stop me from getting it every release day and having my annual '10 Days Till the Show' ritual.
And honestly, if I only bought games that didn't have any problems, I'd have no games.

Anyways, you seem a little angry to be making a post like this....sounds like fighting words. lol
You might get more defensive reactions than a thoughtful discussion.
But I think you know that.

I'm not sure the purpose of this thread.

The reason the post is still there or hasn't been dealt with is because I - surprise! - am discussing it with other moderators to figure out the appropriate action. Because you know we moderators don't just run around throwing bans for personal reasons.

Normally I wouldn't go into explaining this but it seems that you guys have a very difficult time separating yourselves from your favorite game and the individual posters you label as the competition's fanboy.

But now I welcome you to my watch list. I fear, considering your past posts, that you might have a difficult time avoiding my growing presence. You sincerely asked for it so you have yourself to blame.
