IP not too bad after all!

I finally got to play IP after a summer of bashing I didn't even think of renting it... I am surprised how well this game is...

    Pro's
    - The best freaking stadiums around... Great use of the scoreboards and the clarity of the textures is terrific. MVP seems cartoony when compared to. WSB seems missing...
    - High Heat like pitching (I hate the cursor based pitching and the MVP meter is too much)
    - High Heat type hitting (No cursor !)
    - I thought the annoucing is very good. They call the game quite well and you will here your yearly and game totals commented on plus game situation and playoff specific announcing
    - Finally a game where you have to work to cutoff the gap in the outfield on a hit
    - Differnt outs. May be silly but I notice in WSB and MVP that every out looks the same, every groundball is the same speed every hit seems like the same type of hit. This game has many differnt speed on hits and outs that spread in different places..
    - Inovative use of the right stick to throw
    - Online play (although I don't care for it)

    Con's
    - No replay (very lame)
    - Not realistic throwing animations (1 bounce from center to 3rd)
    - Not easy to update rosters
    - No franchise mode

Overall I was surprised that a game that has so many quirks could keep me playing.. Man I love those stadiums and the overlays are nice.... I can't wait to see this game next year esp if they intregate the High Heat engine in it....

          Yet another PRO:

Speed of outfielders in direct relation to their real life attributes.

CON: single player SUCKS. No realism at all.

More games should use attributes to determine players speed/ability. Does Inside Pitch use sliders at all?

Nope. No sliders. Let me mention that in single player it's more difficult to strike out an opponent in this game than it is MVP when playing on the harder difficulty settings. Difficulty settings is another CON in this game. They are either ridiculously easy or insanely hard. Batters NEVER chase one out of the strike zone in this game unless you're in rookie mode. You have to really mix up pitches, speed, and location. Even then you'll get smoked unless you have your defense properly set. Pitchers even hit the ball better in this game than others. Extra base hits by a hurler is pretty common place. Outfielder speed is right on the money though. Most realistic part of this game and the only realistic part.
