Nope. Widescreen does no necessarily = HDTV. Not all HDTV are widescreen Mike. It's a picture mode.

I hope they have widescreen, because my HDTV is widescreen.

Higher resolution. Razor-sharp images, brighter colors, better display.

If you play a game in analog, then play the same game in a true HD resolution... it's almost like you're playing on a different console. Like it's a generation better. It can be that big of a difference. Of couse, you have to have the TV and connectors to support it.

720p and 1080i are true HD resolutions. They're automatically widescreen. That's just the shape of the image.

480p is not generally considered a true HDTV resolution, but it looks better than a regular analog picture. It's 4:3, but it can be made into a widescreen image if the developer chooses. That's why I'm asking.

Almost all Xbox games are 480p or better. A dozen or so are 720p, and a handful are 1080i.

Since we're on the topic of HDTV and of the sorts, has anyone tried to play ASB (or any other baseball video game) on those VGA adapters. 2 popular products come to mind: x2vga and VD-Z3. Basically, they let you hook up your console to a computer monitor and the adapter will allow the games to be shown in high-res HDTv modes. The only drawback is if the game doesn't support anti-aliasing, then it's jaggerific.
