I still have a problem with that. If I throw a pitchout 40 times in a row and the guy I play against keeps swinging, I'll keep throwing it. It's not my fault that he keeps swinging. He needs to change his game....

That example is a little extreme, but if I played online, I'd definately throw a lot of balls. That's what pitching is all about - setting up hitters and confusing them as to what's coming next. Heck when I pitched in real life I'd often work the count to 3-2 IF I felt I was setting the hitter up and the end result would be an out.

If you swing at most pitches you won't do very good online. Just like real baseball, you take some pitches and try and work the count in your favor. I have hit a ton of home runs on 3-0 or 3-1 counts.

Keep them honest by not chasing every single pitch.

Is this what its come to? Now we need to throw an exact strikes to balls ratio? I suppose everyone will also get upset if you sub in a releiver once your pitcher gets tired.

Thats what made High Heat so great as a single player game. The cpu pitcher did walk you,and if you had a pitcher that wasn't on his game you constantly missed the corners,going 2-1 or 3-0,3-1 in counts,knowing if you came across the plate,you were going to get hurt. The current batch of games are getting better at this,but still haven't approached the realism High Heat delivered in that area.
