The sim engine looks really good. I think it's a bit odd that the Homerun Totals are a bit low
I also don't like how the awards are kinda flawed.
The AL ROY being Bobby Crosby is understandable because if you look at the rest of the list, no one else had better stats than Crosby. It's just Crosby's stats are a bit low themselves so that might mean ASB05 isn't good at promoting players from the minors and that it's not the awarding system that's flawed.
The AL MVP being Bret Boone...ehhh that's VERY debatable. If you look at the other 4 players that make up the Top 5 for AL MVP voting, you'll see that Manny and Nomar play on the same team as Boone and that they have a much better AVG than Boone. The only category that Boone has over the other players is a couple more homeruns. This isn't a gamebreaker by any means but such a flaw is quite nagging to the eye.
For whoever that said it's wrong that Boston had like 5 players who hit over 30 HRs, I think it's more than possible that such an anomoly would happen in real life. The Boston Red Sox do have a very nasty offense in real life as they do in the game.
I like the fact that Marcus Giles seems to be having a breakout year. 63 doubles...wow!
For the NL ROY, again, yet another discrepancy. Jason Lane obviously deserves the NL ROY award seeing as how he hits for a better average, more than double the number of homeruns and almost the same number of RBIs. Lane also plays for a playoff contending team (Houston - whom of which ended up 2nd in the NL Central). J.J. Davis has double the amount of doubles but ehh...that's the only category that he has over Jason Lane.
To sum it up, stats look pretty good except for the total number of homeruns. That seems a bit low. However, they are cracking down on steroid testing and homerun totals did drop last year as well. So the homerun totals can be debatable. The end of the year awards system can use a bit more AI - especially the ROY and MVP awards as there are players who are more deserving of the award.
All in all, good screenshots Steve! Can you maybe simulate one more season for us and see if the same anomolies show up? Thanks!
