Well hopefully the keep the High Heat engine just how it is, but beef up all the graphics. I think the high heat engine is still one of the best in the business, let's hope MS does not screw it up.

Re: HH and IP Info.
I'm not holding my breath for this at all. MSFT just needs a baseball title for XBL and will probably throw anything together for online play.
High Heat is the BEST as far as gameplay. Hands down. I've been playing this alot lately with updated rosters. I downloaded the latest version off BBallSimCent. and used DangerZ's editor to make about 90% of the moves that have been made. I've also set what I thought were some pretty realistic lineups and rotations for each team. Yes, the graphics need to be tweaked, but I think most of the graphical problems have been solved with the mod stadiums and uniforms. Realistic baserunning, dropped third strikes, pitch counts, box scores, stats, minor leagues, etc...It's all there. It just flies in under the radar because most gamers use consoles.
Too bad. I think we've seen the last of it.Comment

Yes, HH had SOLID gameplay on the field. Their franchise had many features (eg: stat-trackable minor leagues A, AA, AAA) but their franchise was also kinda sucky. Franchise AI was quite poor as you would normally see players like Vladimir Guerrero and Sammy Sosa sit in the Free Agent pool and not get signed.Comment

Re: HH and IP Info.
Yep, that was definately HH's weakness. I think that 3do's budget limitations prevented the size team that HH really needed to get their game over the hump. It's amazing the game played as well as it did. Definately a credit to the baseball know-how that worked on it. If Microsoft reworked the franchise engine they would have a worthy competitor in what's becoming the most impressive and competitive sports video game arena.

Re: HH and IP Info.
I do have to agree that that is the dumbest quote ever. Suggesting that MS might bring their XSN Sports titles to the PS2 is like thinking Sony will start publishing their 989 sports titles on the Xbox. Not a chance in hell. Was this even a game news source that made this idiot statement?
PC may or may not see this title. Links I believe will be on the Xbox and PC next year so baseball could work the same way with a one year Xbox exclusive.
Anyway, I think Inside Heat has a decent job at being a great title. If MS was just going to cash in on the High Heat name then we would have seen them slap that name on any old thing this year. Not the case. The fact they are taking a year off to develop the title says they are serious about building a competitive sports franchise with the High Heat engine.
Look at it another way. MS has built this huge sports network in XSN yet every game they release is over shadowed by EA's entry. EA has turned their back on Live completely and more than anything I think MS would love to have at least one of their sports title reign supreme. The best two chances they have are with Links and High Heat. A successfull sport title would not only recharge XSN and the other MS sports titles but it would also get EA to rethink its hold out position.Comment
