Re: depth chart and scouting report from gameinformer
No magazine will ever give ASB a score it deserves. Non of them actually have hardcore baseball fans working at the magazine. Pretty much as simple as that, I expect most of the gameing mags to jump all over MVP again. Hell, GI gave it a 9 last year and it was a POS. IMOComment

Re: depth chart and scouting report from gameinformer
I love how they said the technology is old....so I guess fielder-cam is old then?
There's a thin line between old and well made. An old engine or core to a video game would show its age and not perform very well. A well made engine/core would only need slight tweaks and maybe a new feature once every couple yrs. That's what ASB has, if Madden can get by with a stale graphics engine and core gameplay then this game can too!

Re: depth chart and scouting report from gameinformer
Nice post Sportsman. But I don't see how they could call ASB's BTP or Fielder Cams old technology to begin with. Even the player models are noticeably improved this year, and the stadiums and lighting look fastastic. Throw in all the extra animations and small touches that ASB is known for, and you have a winner IMO.
Bottom line, if ASB was an EA game, I suspect the media coverage and reviews (outside of OS, of course) would be a lot different. That's not a knock against MVP (or even ESPN for that matter), just the way I see it.Comment

Re: depth chart and scouting report from gameinformer
Most people are bias towards their favorite games, and those who write these articles are no different.
I personally enjoyed each baseball title I purchased last year. I really thought ASB had the best player animations and the batting stances/pitchers deliverys where dead on. ESPN had the best stadiums and was also a very solid game, but I hated their player models. Unfortunately, my once loved High Heat felt like an aging game, but it was still solid.
This year it is going to be ASB and MVP for my XBOX. If MVP didn't have the Minor League depth, I would probably go with ASB only. I just wish MS and EA could come to some agreement and make the gaming world almost perfect.
Lets just all be happy that we have great games to choose from.Comment
