MVP= a bunch of dots
ASB= best for manage only mode, just like Larussa but you have more options and feel like you have more control over the team.

Once again ,if asb 2005 could produce realistic results in the manage only mode, unlike last years game, it would be a hands down ,no brainer ,decision on which game the manage only fan should get. However, I recently played a manage only exhibition season with the Cardinals, and though there were some high scoring games, the offense wasn't sim like at all. And once the regular season started ,my team was hitting .176 after about 8 games, when I shut it down and remembered why I quit playing last year. Even though the MVP series doesn't allow you to "watch" the play, the relative ease of hitting and the ability to play some,manage some ,sim some..etc. is quite intriguing. Haven't made my final decision yet, but if I hear that ASB has realistic manage only mode statistics, I'll be hard pressed not to go with ASB 2005.

I just finished a season in ASB 2004, and at the end of the year, the Cardinals had a team batting average of .271 (which led the league). My team (using the expansion mode) had a batting average of .265.

Batting average is a bit lower than reality, but the main problem is that the runs scored are too few. Not by a lot, but usually the lead in ASB 2004 is around 750 runs, while in the real world, that's closer to being average. (the ASB 2004 average being closer to 630 or so)

tracejeremy, Were you playing your season using manage only? Were you simming a majority of your games?

If you got those results with manage only ,or cpu controlled teams or anyway, except button mashing, we would love to know your secret. Thanks.
