Camera Angles ......
I think ASB needs to revamp their Camera Angels. I think the EA game MVP looks so good in the videos is mainly because of the way they use the camera angels, especially the replay camera angles, because the graphics are far inferior to ASB, but the way MVP game is presented makes all the difference, and it looks good. ASB has excellent graphics, especially the ballparks, but the camera angles are not on par with MVP. In MVP videos, you will notice how the cut scenes really show off the ballparks, very nice panning from many many angles. I have to say it really looks good. I don't understand why ASB don't do this because of the lovely ballparks they have. They are really doing an injustice to their game views. I just finished watching some videos over at OS, and noticed that the same cut scene camera angle in between innings is still there ( the one that shows the view looking at the dugout with the players running out on the field ) this camera angle has been repeatitive for many years now in this game. ASB really should do a better job at presenting their game.Tags: None -
Re: Camera Angles ......
I agree. One of the complaints I have had about this series is how detached you feel from the action sometimes. In ASB 2002 and 2003 the camera angles were so damn high above the action it felt like I watching the action from a blimp!!! THis year the behind the fielder cam looks to improve upon that though.Comment

Re: Camera Angles ......
I agree that ASB in past years has lacked in the replay camera angle department. But honestly, I feel the same way about MVP and MLB with the rather generic "follow the ball" camera angle that they use in actual gameplay. ASB's, to me, looks the most like an angle you would see on TV. I also really like what I've seen from the new BTP and Fielder Cams, and I'm holding out hope that ASB will have added some cool TV Broadcast camera angle replays this year to go with them.
But they really should shake up the "players running onto the field between innings" shot that you're talking about, IMO. Just makes ASB seem less fresh to more casual observers..someone who might not otherwise stick with it long enough to see all of the other great little touches.Comment

I feel the same way. Gamers, especially casual gamers, tend to like a good variety of camera angles during a game, even between innings, it just adds to the overall feelin of being there, at the game itself.
