    Decision Made

I have been in the process of deciding between ESPN and ASB for Xbox purposes, most specfically Live purposes. I've already decided to get MVP but wanted to get one of those two. I hadn't played either of the previous years versions so I rented them both.

I popped in ESPN first and though it was okay. Didn't wow me in the least. I followed that up with ASB and I enjoyed that game more then I've ever enjoyed any baseball game before. The depth of the franchise is ridiculous. I also need to add that the player faces are IDENTICAL to their real life counterparts, best I've seen yet( MVP has good ones as well). I enjoyed the gameplay even more then the graphics. The atmospheres of the stadiums actually feel real. Play in Yankee stadium and you can feel the mystique.

Before, I was close minded and not open to the possibility of ASB because I hated the version 2 years ago. I gave it a rent for this past version and my opinions have changed. This is the best baseball game I've ever played. And with that, I made my decision. It will be ASB and MVP for me this year.

Smart desicion to choose ASB over ESPN. That & MVP look like the two best this year. Although MLB 2005 looks pretty damn good as well. I'll probably end up buying all three. At least MLB & ASB are only $39.99.

I think a lot of people are basing their opinions of ASB on a version from years ago.

The series has really made some significant strides in the last two years.

You can say that again. I wasted my money on that version two years ago, it was horrid! So I went into this game thinking the worst and got the best. I was extremely impressed.

                            Re: Decision Made

I wouldn't mind giving MVP a rent just to see if all the pre-release hype is true, but I can't justify spending $50 to play the ai non-stop when other games offer Live play. A real human opponent just takes the pitching and batting expience to a whole new level.

I got WSB last year and it just felt kind of stale and the ESPN demo seemed to be a step backwards (although I know it isn't fair to judge on a work in progress).

Nope, this year Im giving my money to ASB. It sounds like the online winner for the Xbox this season and so far I have been really impressed by all its movies. Not to mention the $40 price tag.
