-No, but everyone is forced to use downloadable rosters. So if Pedro gets hurt in real life...he's not there to use.

I guess that answered it for me. SUHWEEEEET!!!!!!

And as I mentioned in the Q&A thread, it's awful. Forced?!? Why not download and use custom rosters, like MS does?

This is a possible deal-breaker for leagues... there's this potential: everybody picks their teams, plays a 12 week season, and just as the playoffs are about to start, each team is forced to play online with a just-released roster update, which, based on real-life trades and injuries, may completely overhaul the virtual team you've had and been happy with for three months.

What a mistake this would be!

As the commissioner in my baseball league, this may be enough, on its own, to tell the 24 of us to go with ESPN instead, unfortunately.

Ya well on ESPN you can't even use downloaded rosters, so Arod won't even be a Yankee. Theres downsides to each.

ESPN got A-Rod on the Yankees, Soriano on the Rangers, and Maddux on the Cubs already.

Re: Can we use updated rosters ONLINE in ASB2005??

ASB should really do something about the starters as relievers in online play. If the game goes into extra innings I can understand. But I hated playing Inside Pitch last year, only for the guy to take Clemens out, and put in Petite, or Wells.

Nice to hear updated rosters will be used online, but I'd rather have them address the other issue first.

Those two downsides aren't even close to each other, if you're playing in a league.

Something else that ESPN also did. You can't put in another starter until after 9 innings of play.

Because yeah, that would be scary if you were playing against someone being the Cubs or Red Sox.
