Will the announcer say the created player's name basically?Tags: None -
Re: Is there name reconition for created player?
You wouldnt think so,, only game I have ever seen to do this was Earl Weaver Baseball on the Amiga. You could type in the sounds and it would try to say the name correctly. (Before the cannons fire and everyone gets upset and starts throwing in games that have had this feature. Let me repeat this is the only game "I" have seen do this.) -

Re: Is there name reconition for created player?
If the name is in the database it will say it. So if you create a player named Fred Martinez, it will say Martinez.
If not, it will say his position or "That Guy." I think it's hillarious when they say "That Guy" LOLComment

Good because one of my pet peeves with the WSB/ESPN franchise (or even any SEGA Sports game) is that they don't pronounce a created player and/or minor league player's name -- even if it was a common name that was in the database such as Williams or Martinez. I recall the recent Madden football games as being really good at pronouncing a created player's name.Comment

Re: Is there name reconition for created player?
If the code identifies the name, then there will be name recognition. Last year, I believe the only way it had that was if you left the name of a created player how it was.Comment
