Re: Looks like ASB is delay till the end of March..

Ok, yeah, think what you want, I think I should just go to Jilians or a Nathans or something and play MVP in the arcade. I'm not getting the game, I'm going to play it, but I wont get it and I DID hit 55 or so HR's with Karim Garcia, I KID YOU NOT! I can recall my whole yankee lineup HR's.

    Soriano-45
    Jeter-20
    Giambi-75
    Garcia-55
    Williams-35
    Posada-12
    Matsui(created)-30
    Boone-17
    Sierra-18

We broke the HR record (team) and Giambi broke Bonds' record and there were no awards for that. Matsui didnt win rookie of the year, I forget who did, and Soriano got MVP. My Mike Mussina got around 290 K's also. I am not lieing. WSB had some realistic pitching last year but its hitting was bad with the cursor. I think yes, MVP WILL in fact have better hitting (I see they improved on it A LOT) but I have to say, I'm not interested. I will play it though and try it. Not getting it.

I'm talking about MVP 2004, the one that comes out next week.

I know but just b/c its a whole new year, doesnt mean its drastically changed you know? I check out the site, they made hitting better and fielding but the things that I have been looking for arent changed, those same minimal batting stances are there and pitching stances! That bugged me, also a lot of players looked the same. I dont hate MVP, I just dont think its great, its fun, but I want to have fun but play realistic ball at the same time and it isnt too realistic.

Good point but I havent had an ASB copy of my own since ASB 2003. I only rented last year and noted all the changes is but I already had WSB 2k3. I liked most especially the new stances, pitching as well, the music when walking up and the new cameras and such. I didnt get it since I had WSB at the time then after that, I got MVP 2003, wanted to try new things, I finished that season in September and then just didnt get any baseball game after that since it was time for the playoffs. I really dont like cursor batting anymore and now that there is the new analog swing, that just totally sucks me in, I really want to do that. MVP as I said, I will play since my brother is getting it but I dont expect a huge change, nor do I for ASB (and I dont expect minimal change for ESPN) but still, ASB catches my eye with what IMO, has better graphics, realism, etc etc. I can pick out things I like better in MVP than in ASB.

                        Hot/cold streaks
Double headers (not sure of that but I heard it has it, thats cool)
                        Analog fielding
                        Minor Leagues

Thats kind of it. Cool, but doesnt catch my eye. I'm gonna try it out and play with my brother in his franchise but once ASB comes out and EB calls me (I reserved it on XBox) I will be playing that for the remainder of the Baseball season. Those are my reasons why ASB is better in my mind and I'm sticking to it.

How did this turn into a asb vs. mvp thread?

Sheesh. Anyway Arod. Acclaim finishes the games. They send them to MS and Sony. Those internal testers test the game and approve them as A-Ok. This could take a week, could take 2. If there is a problem with the game, Acclaim goes back to work fixing it. Then it goes gold, the duplicate, box and ship. That is how the process works
