Re: New Release dates from ebgames

I think a good answer to this is that they are trying to distance themselves from all the hype and media around MVP, since they probably don't feel that threatend by ESPN MLB.

I stil think some of these compaines that have good games, should try and go head to head with EA one year instead of moving dates to avoid. Eventually good game play, positive press, and fan support will help out a company. To bad Sega decided to try and change their gameplan in some cases this past year - they should make the game they have always been making - more sim based instead of trying to do what EA does so well... a middle ground. Some of us don't want a middle ground and when more casual gamers find out how much fun sim stuff can be, then EA will finally head that way and it makes everything better for us gamers.

      Or the game isn't ready.

EA Sports knows what they are doing and the early they get it out the more sales they will get. And if they are first, again more sales. If you are a casual gamer and MVP is your first buy you might not even rent the others if they come out too late.

Hardcore gamers don't really count because they will buy and play anything and anytime.

Anyway I think you'll see the Xbox and the PS2 game out at the same time. MVP was spread a week apart and they made it so the games were released at the same time.

To be fair, Accaim never set March 9th as a solid release date. In fact, the only mention asb_man ever made of it was that the game would be released sometime before opening day.
