I bought MVP today and all I can say is it was overhyped. The game is good, but its far from a 93/100. I am still looking forward to ASB 2005, more than ever now.

i was never worried about the mvp..after playing last yrs.. it wasnt my game... and with all the great features like.. rule 5 draft.... arbatration... all that and sooooooooo much more.. the list is too long for a first timer like mylself to get into... 14 days... each day brings more insanity and glee... which is or will be more i dont know til each day unfolds...god i cant wait... march.. 24th adn a phone call cant come fast enough... ever!!!!!!!!!

IT is kind of funny. I have seen several bugs in MVP that were never mentioned in any reviews. Seems odd to me that I would see so many strange things in 3 games, and the reviewers on various sites would not see them. Hell, the IGN guy said he played over 70 games (Yeah right).

Here is a breakdown of what I wrote on the MVP forum. If any of you here playing MVP have had similar results, please let me know I am not crazy

Well I picked up the game earlier this afternoon because I am just dying for some baseball . I was not even going to give MVP a chance since I disliked last years so much, but you all have convinced me.

However, I don't think the game likes me. Maybe it knows I wasn't going to buy it . The reason I say this is because I have noticed some really weird things so far that I have not seen anyone mention. I won't go into all the positives since you guys have touched most of them. But here is what I have seen.

1st game I played at fenway with my sox against the astros. Twice, Biggio in center kind of got stuck trying to go after a ball that was in one of the corners. One in the corner where the monster meets the centerfield wall. He just kept running into the corner until I scored. He was trying to get the ball, but couldn't. The second time happened in the big corner in center. I am sure this is just an issue with fenway, or another parks with weird corners.

I am now playing my dynasty with a complete free agent draft as the Dbacks.
Here is a few things I noticed. Now don't rip on me for being negative, I am just mentioning these things in curiousity to see if anyone else has seen them. I am playing the XBOX version btw.

Grounders down the line do not seem to hit the bag. I am just guessing no collision detection with the bases and ball. No biggy.

Pitchers seem to catch a lot of balls up the middle. My first game in dynasty mode, Clemens caught all three balls I laced back up the middle in the first inning.. Even one screamer to his right side. Kerry Wood, on my team, made a catch on a screamer as well. But then another screamer was hit past him, and he got an Error?

There was a ground ball that went right under the firstbaseman's glove, but it was a base hit.

On a stolen base, the catcher threw the ball away and the camera just flipped out. All I saw was black for a second, then saw the CF picking up the ball. On the replay, the camera showed the catcher, he threw, then it panned down and faced right into the grass. It was very odd.

Other than that, the game is great so far. I had a hard time with the outfielders speed at first as well, so I made some slider adjustments that seemed to help a ton. I am still having a hard time with throwing the ball. I have heard you can preload, but I have not gotten the timing down yet. That will come.

Edit: A couple of more things. I have not been to BOB in a year or so. It used to be all green, I mean all the walls were dark green. Especially in centerfield. Did they change it? In MVP, everthing is kind of blueish purple.

I just hit a screaming grounder up the middle that got by the center fielder who was playing me to pull. LMAO, that was classic. I have never seen a groundball that hits the mound go so far .

Ok, I just another one just like the grounder to first, but to the right fielder. Went right between his legs, but no error. Just a double

well we should all be very very happy and roflol... because it seems there are a lot of pissed off es customers that are having promblems on both the xbox and ps2... something to do with frame rate issue... and slight freezing from what i read... this is great.. after all the f'n hype that game got and it is screwed up... can i get an AMEN BROTHER!!!!

WE all know that asb will rock and roll and kill everything around it this yr... (well im hoping soo...)
