    2004

Any reason I should rent 2004 before buying 2005? I have never played ASB before. Can existing 2004 leagues be converted?

I'm sure it would help some to play 2004 before 2005, but I think the games are going to be completely different anyway.

As far as converting existing 2004 seasons into 2005 seasons, I think ASB_Man said it can't be done until maybe Xbox2/PS3.
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. If I were you I would not rent ASB2004 at all. After renting it and playing a few games I found things that make me not consider 2005. The commentary was off at times and the game seemed slow among other things. Possibly rent ASB2003, IMO that seemed better then 2004. Currently I am hoping that ASB2005 is alot better then last years. Im not bashing ASB and I am not a MVP or ESPN fanboy. I would prefer a Sim/real approach to a baseball video game and I think all the extras that ASB puts in is exactly what should be in a baseball game. But what it comes down to is mostly gameplay and real atmosphere for me. I wanna be able to play a game that is exciting/challenging with true to life stats and I want all my sounds to chime in when they are suppose to.
