I have bought ASB the last two years, mainly because I love the franchise/Dynasty mode and the old stadiums. But I have always found the gameplay lacking, especially the hitting. I know that analog hitting is new this year and that's great, but does anyone get the feeling that beyond that not much has changed from last year's version? I know about the fielder cam, but I am talking about gameplay. I actually don't mind the minor visual glitches such as the vacuum effect as long as the game plays like baseball to me.
Have the CPU offensive woes been addressed? Are CPU vs. CPU games higher scoring? I am just wondering what the advance buzz is. I am enjoying the heck out of MVP for it's gameplay, but the franchise mode can't hold a candle to ASB. I am really hoping that this year's version is vastly improved, not just a retread of last year's game. By the way, I don't know bout anyone else, but that is the absolute feeling I get when I see the new ESPN baseball game. Looks and plays like WSB2K4 to me, except for the horrendous 1st-person mode. I played the demo and was completely unimpressed. Here's hoping ASB is all it can be!
