PROS
*MVP is fun to play, and i'll stand by that
*thorough franchise mode... very well done and good attention to detail..
CONS
*HORRIBLE graphically (that's not the most important thing in a baseball game, but it's pretty poor)
*NO PLAYER PROGRESSION in franchise... yep, can you believe it?
*batting is ridiculous... push up to hit a fly ball? down for a grounder? please...
*pitching is easy on all levels...
*pitching AI is poor... after learning their tendencies, it's very easy to hit... tendencies seem way too easy to pick up
*pitching is easy as well, you can hit the cold spots all day and they'll K often
*animation and framerate issues
*no BP... i'm hoping ASB didn't take away BP for me... I haven't read that they did...
*no walks...
Honestly, I can't think of a whole lot of positives for this game. Individually at least. It's fun to play, and that makes up for a lot of the other stuff. I'm sure you can read this and say, "he's bashing MVP" but i'm not. It's not a sim at all. Get over it and move on. If you're stuck on MVP being a sim, there's no arguing with you.
Anyway, I know this isn't thorough, and MVP does a lot of good things (please read that last line again), i just think some of bad is really bad and for the sim guys, it hurts too much. MVP is an arcade game with sim qualities. it's EA flexing their muscles because they know they can sell games... they have a big pocket book, and are flat out going to sell move games... so they can market to both sides of the fence, simmies and arcadies...
regardless, MVP is a good game, but not what we're looking for. maybe some will post and say "duh, we already knew that" but this is served to help those want to blow $50 cuz they can't wait...
