Hey guys, PP 2013 has been released and it's available in region free PS3, Vita and PSP versions at a bargain price of $39.99 this year! Here's the Play-Asia link, they are currently offering free shipping...

I've been playing the (Japanese PSN) downloaded Vita version so I'll post some early impressions. In case you're not familiar, the 2012 Vita version was incredible! It was literally the PS3 version sized down to a small screen, butter smooth with no BS. Nobody who bought it disagreed with me so if you like baseball and have a Vita it's a must-buy! The only complaint was that power hitting was tough using the smaller sticks. I think they've done some things this year that should help in that area, plus they added a new 'Manager Mode' if you want to abandon batting yourself.
- The transition from last year to this year looks smooth, just a few new options so the user settings pages will only need slight tweaking. Also the main page looks pretty much the same (unlike PYS which changes things around every year which gives me headaches.)
- New this year is 'Manager Mode' and it's a blast! It's similar to PYS but it plays lightning fast and has really nice camera angles. When the CPU hit a home run the camera work was just stellar! Each play is decided with 1 pitch, but with a simple click of the "R" button you can see every pitch if you want (it annoyed me in PYS that you had to go into the menu to do this.) As soon as Muka gets the game he agreed to translate this mode so we'll be on it soon.
- I'm seeing some new animations here & there and it seems player faces stand out a little better. Also the great zoom-in style replays from PYS 2013 are here. They look better with PYS's real life player models but overall these additions bring a bit more life to the game.
- Could be a fluke, but my defense has been committing more errors than I recall from last year. Holding my breath when the ball is hit to certain players.
- There's some new graphical things going on in certain situations. Good power hitter comes up to the plate and the inside of his power hitting cursor is glowing orange and there's what appears to be yellow rain falling around the batting area. Another player was glowing with a blue flaming aura and another one had a red aura. Obviously these are power boosts of some sort - or a display of hot/cold players...looking forward to Muka's translations of these. I'm all for it because Power Pro is a mix of fun & realism so bring it on.
- New options: there are now 3 options in how to display the human & CPU pitch cursor. It would take too long to explain but you just have to experiment to your liking on this. In addition to "Pitch Speed" there is now a "Hit Speed" option, haven't explored this yet so will update when I figure out what it does.
- And yes! You can hit batters - PYS are you listening?
- Haven't checked yet to see if there are new Special Skills.
- So far I'm happy with the upgrade, I think the new addition of Manager Mode and the power boost stuff makes it worthy of supporting the game. The Vita version clocks in at 1/2 Gig bigger than last years version so it's not just a roster update. Speaking of support, you can also support our websites by purchasing the game through our home page (or through the link above). Based on the small commission from each sale, both Muka & I were able to get the game free this year - and we really do appreciate that.
