Holy newbie post Batman! I'm all of a sudden a fanboy because I'm picking apart a review of a magazine known to give ratings among reputation of past games. Yeah, nice stereotype.

So everyone who posted here about the review is a fanboy right? Reality check, most of us bought MVP and I'm loving it, but playing ASB for a couple of years, I don't think 05 should deserve a 5.0+/- for the reasons stated (Batting Stances is a funny one... they've been the same for years, with more added and all of a sudden they're off?). It would've been better if it was gameplay reasons, but they went out and pointed out problems that could EASILY be fixed, pitch speed too slow? Raise it up, don't be a sloth. Fielder cam giving you trouble? Go back to traditional. These "problems" are as ridiculous as the lefty power discrepency and walk issue in MVP, people note them, but does it bother them? No.

I hear ya, Rag3vsW0rld. I don't really rely on magazine reviews to influence my opinion on sports games, but I've followed this thread and found it interesting that all three nitpicked that the fieldercam wasn't very good. Now, if that is truly one of the reasons why they gave it a low score, then that is pretty funny, because I don't believe it is a requirement to use fieldercam. Now, if all the fielding camera angles had problems, then that could be an issue, but I somehow doubt that is the case.

Whatever, though. I'm still picking it up. After a one year hiatus, I'm interested to see how far the series has come along.

Man Why do we continue to buy these mags ...Like someone said Ea Is so far up there Butts it's not funny and anyone who says this is not true WHATEVER...I am trading in MVP for asb 2005 and then buying Espn ...ASB has always been cool for me..

I agree, it doesn't mention you can SWITCH OFF THE FIELDERCAM if you don't like it! And also I don't agree with the their comments about the ballparks and washed-out visuals. What are they smoking over EGM?

Does anybody know if you can in fact switch off of fielder cam and use another angle? Is fielder cam the only one you can use?? If it is the only view and it's buggy, I can see why the game has been getting mediocre reviews.
