Re: anyone else able to appreciate mvp MUCH more after playing mlb2005?

I loved mvp and knew it was the best game this year,I just refuse to think anyone can top this game this year. My buddy dropped by last nite and brought over MLB 2005 cause he just wanted to check it out so I figured why not..

My impressions ..beautiful stadiums, players faces very accurate, batting stances very accurate from what I seen. Also a nice touch I thought was some of the pre-bat rituals some of the players have such as nomar adjustin his batting gloves, players making the sign of the cross and kissin there hand as they are diggin in..little stuff like that was great to see and am proud of 989 for stepping up and gettin that in touch with detail.

then we played a game and thats when I started not liking the game.It just had to many issues once you start playing...its defitnetly a improvment over last year but MVP is still #1

mvp looks alot better i just hope we can find a way to get more sb/walks by the cpu !

Nope your not nuts. I see it as well. Another thing is the hitting in this game is way too esay IMO. The strikezone is huge. The loading times are annoying. And last but not least the graphics look horrible on my HDTV.

I knew this would be a bust. WHen reading everyone's posts in the previews I couldn't understand where they were coming from. All the videos that actually showed gameplay were hoaky IMO. People said that MVP was overhyped, but at least it is a good game. MLB was way overhyped and I just couldn't understand what people were seeing.

Sometimes I just think that people want to do anything BUT like an EA game. So they hype other junk. It shouldn't matter who the publisher is.

No. MLB has gotten twice the playing time as MVP. The career mode is very nice as well as the deep franchise.
Yes I will continue to play MVP as I like the throwing and off line throws etc. If only MVP had some more excitement elements to it. Hit a HR in the first inning or in the bottom of the 12th...same "atmosphere" "excitement"

MLB adds extra details and atmosphere with the cutscenes and player/coackes actions during the game.
In any case BOTH games should be played. One is not head and shoulders over the other. DOes one really have to be?? Not unless you care more about the company than the fun of playing a game...

I haven't played this years MLB, but I thought last year it came in 2nd right behind ASB. I think the gameplay was superb...pitch speeds were very fast, which is realistic. The game had a nice look to it and it didn't have all of the cheese that some companies like to throw in to cover up shortcomings instead of working on the core of the game. I didn't get a chance to dive into the franchise and such.
