Favorite ASB game? Last year. It had the most features, depth, and details of any game in the series (or any console baseball game ever made for that matter).

As a former HH player I am going to give ASB a run this year - in the past I never paid much attention to it (maybe becasue of poor reviews), but this year needing a new baseball title I started poking around on the OS boards. I still wasn't giving ASB much of a thought, but we all need something to do at work (besides work I mean) - so I started reading up on ASB. Here, I found game developers taking time out of their schedules to interact with game players and to answer questions on the game. I found a group of players that seemed to be very intelligent, rational, level headed, and mature (not always a given in the sports gaming world). So, based on the honesty of Asb_Man and Asb_Art, as well as the opinions of and discussions with people on this board I went out and rented ASB 04. Lo and behold, I really enjoyed it, so I rented it again - I enjoyed it even more. I wished it had been the game I had been playing for the past year.

So on the eve of the new release, I'm really looking forward to the '05 version - nevermind reviews, I'll trust the judgements of the people here at OS. I really enjoyed last year's version so I expect the same this year. I'm looking forward to talking about the '05 version with you all in about 21 hours......

Thanks to everybody here, thanks to the ASB guys that have come in here and taken criticism and answered questions to satisfy out curiosity. If nothing else it really shows those huys care about the game they put out.

Gado, I was kind of in the same boat, only a year ago. I hate ASB 2003. I decided to give 2004 more time and fell in love with it. I often wonder what I missed the whole year of ASB 2003 .

My biggest questions are, is hitting variety improved in the zone hitting interface? And is the CPU offense a little more potent this year? Will the CPU baserunning AI continue to get better (runners on 2nd advancing on a groundball to the right side of the infield etc.).

I haven't seen any answers to these questions? Have any of these been brought up?

It worked properly in 04 most of the time. I still saw instances where it didn't. This is a big pet peeve of mine, because if it doesn't work, hitting behind the runner is not a valuable strategy. MLB looks to be the game that has it down the best, as this was in issue with even HH.

04, did a better job of it, but there were still times when they didn't advance.

The runner on second advancing to third on a grounder to the right side is a big pet peeve of mine, and I know it worked properly in 04.
