I emailed ASB_Man (Tom) earlier about the online concerns some were having. Here is his answer to the batting and fielding.

FielderCam is the only fielding option online and Timing/Zone aren't
available on the harder difficulty levels. These limitations were done for
many reasons...mostly to keep the matches even/equal, and testing time.
Online was a huge chore.
