I;m not very interested in it. I like a game to feel like a broadcast on TV. Just my preference.

It's challenging, has a huge learning curve.
No problems with it though, at least not that I've seen.

you can say that again....damn...ive only played one game with it on, but its definitely going to take some MAJOR practice time...wow....very disorienting, in the sense that this view hasnt been presented before, at least not that ive seen

Re: Whats wrong with fielder cam?

I played one game and it is hard to pick up at the start but not impossible. It didn't kill my game but I did have 3 errors not counting numerous misthrows. Maybe someone can help me with some tips.

            - the 'look' with the right stick seems a tad slow (is there a way to adjust the speed/sensativity)

            - I have a huge problem adapting to the inverted look (both looking up for down and left for right); can it be changed? Sorry, I am really inverted challenged.

            - I think the hardest part of the cam is the game wants to point you toward the spot of the ball first (so you can see where it will land). In doing that the camera is looking away from the ball and towards the outfield, so you have to turn your head back around to try and pick up the ball alread in flight while continuing to run forward. This is more of an issue when the ball is to the left or right and not when it is in front of you. Not sure there would be an easier solution for this as it sound more like a logistical issue of sticking someone suddendly in the outfield as a ball is flying at you. Hopefully I will be able to adjust after some time and maybe I will like it more with the assist off - does your guy just face home plate when you take him over?)

            - Finally, it was a really good idea to allow players to flip the buttons/bases. I don't know how many bases I gave up tossing to 3rd instead of 1st before flipping the buttons. I thought for sure the good old standard config would be find but the fielder cam messes with my mind more than I expected.

Anyway, Im not giving up on it yet. It seems pretty cool when everything comes together on a play and anyone that does't use it will probably be at a disadvantage online as well.

I agree with you on how disorienting this mode can be. I think for ASB to make this mode work they're going to have to make some allowances like Sega did with FPF. Maybe something like a quick replay of the ball hitting the bat from the fielders point of view or some sort of slow down just so you can get a handle on the trajectory of the ball, instead of just jumping to some random view of the field.

Just to clarify, Fieldercam also works different depending on your difficulty level.

On veteran, the fieldercam will point you towards the spot the ball is going to land. This is supposed to get you used to seeing the rings on the ground where the ball is headed. From All-Star mode on, the camera will focus on you looking at the flight of the ball, which is a little more realistic. You have to follow the arrow to get to the spot the ball is going. It's harder, but much less disorienting because you actually have the track of the ball.

For those that can't see the ball, you can turn on the red glow that will make the ball easier to see. Next year, Acclaim really needs to make the ball bigger, and make the players a little bigger as well.
