my early impressions are based on quite a few games played. in every baseball game there are AI issues... some you notice right away and usually troubling, some are more subtle.

i can tell you early impressions of MVP were not this good. then again, MVP has real roster management to... lol

Even so, I think it is safe to say the AI is better than MVP...even after a few days. The pitcher substitution tendencies and stealing are better for sure.

What we don't know is if there is some huge flaw that has not surfaced yet...a la player development does not exist or something like that.

yep. exactly. those are the things that are easily noticed that you just shook your head at in MVP.

you know, i gotta hand it to EA though. make a game that appeals to the masses (good arcade game, decent sim), put a lot of money into it for advertising, and send it out. that's good stuff. they know what they're doing, that's for sure. not a great baseball game, but a pretty fun one for a lot of people. ASB definately has a smaller market... but those of us that love it, really love it....

Not really sure if it fully fits into AI, but the amount of information on the mound visits is fantastic!
