    Having fun

OK I found camera angles that I'm comfortable with and the game is starting to grow on me. I'm playing with the Padres and it is so nice to be able to hit with Giles and Klesko for power from the left side of the plate. I hear people say that this isn't a glitch in MVP but there is no way they are being honest with themselves. When I play MVP (allstar level) I go right at lefties redzones and they fail to make me pay everytime. They are easy outs. No such problem in Allstar and this is a huge reason I'm spending more time with Allstar.

Also the fact that the Dynasty mode isn't broken makes me feel better over the long haul.

Allstar definately has some weird stuff going on at times. And I stress weird. I've seen the ball make a U-turn and end up being caught like 50 yards away from where it was headed. This doesn't happen all the time but it definately needs fixed.

DP's are troublesome at times because of the finicky preload. Preloading to me means I should be able to hit a base early, and the play will be made faster. The only problem with Allstar to me, anyway is that it is possble to actually hit the button too early resulting in your fielder doing nothing. Then if you hit it too late the crouch + animation sequence takes too long. Now if you couple those 2 things with the fact that the computer is very good at takeout slides and high throws to first are also very common, the window for success with DP's is smaller than it should be. In real life the DP is a lot more routine at the Professional level and should be easier to pull off.

Another annoyance is the fact that so far the computer can pick me off when I have a lead but I haven't come close to nailing them. I hope that some people out there are having success in this area.

Hitting variety does seem better, however, the AI can hit the ball down the lines and it seem like no matter how early or late I swing I'm not able to do this. I will push a pull a pitch but not down the line. Hopefully I will see more of these with more practice.

Baserunning is just not smooth. It is very difficult to get someone to just run through a base without stopping or hesitating. Not horrble but could be better. I wish they would copy EA's baserunning system for next year.

All in all I'm having a great time. I didn't like this game at all previously and this year I will probably play it the most. There is a lot about this game that keeps bringing me back this year. I like MVP as well but the lefty glitch really bothers me and thus Allstar is getting more PT.

          AMEN. Glad someone said that.

I actually have zero problems with the animations on ASB. Sure, the crouch is a bit different, but I like how the players throw, follow-through etc. I don't use the preload... I just find myself pressing the base a couple of times to make sure it's thrown right away.

The behind the pitcher CAM is sensational in this game. And the animation of the pitcher throwing BLOWS AWAY MVPs...
