ultimate game setup for "the real baseball feel" !

now that the game been out a couple of days. (i'm still waiting for release in europe)
what do you guys think is the best setup for real scores, stats , when playing a season ?

and also for online play what setup gives the best reallife scores ?

i have no problem if the setup is tough in the beginning and score gets out of hand because i'm new too the game, but i prefer playing with a setup that a lot of people play with for competitive and fun games.

the golf game links come to mind where the reward was to play on advanced setting even though it was really hard in the beginning but ultimatly gave it a real like feel to the game.

even though it seems like way more options with ASB 05 , any input would be nice .

Well I picked up the game last night and have only played about three games. I think when my settings are at Veteren, Classsic pitch speed (is that right?), I get good stats. Initially my defense was horrible so I turned off the fielding cam and set Defense to assist. In the first 5 innings they had 7 hits, 3 runs. When the game ended this is what it looked like,,

    ---------R--H--E
    Detroit 5--12-0
    Boston 1--8--2

there was about 9 total K's and 1 walk. There was 1 home run.
I was using 2d cursor hitting.

First, turn off all the pitching and hitting aids, and the strike zone. Set the pitch speed to "Sim (Fastest)". Then use either the 2d cursor or zone hitting. I have used both and I prefer zone (I hate cursors), but the 2d cursor produces some realistic hits.

                Heelfan,

I haven't tried the zone interface yet and was wondering how you're liking it. I play on Legend right now, w/ the timing interface, and it just seems like I get too many hits. I want the averages to be realistic, but I hate cursors. Let me know how zone is working out for ya.

I do think the Zone batting was made a whole lot better this year, but at the same time I end up with a few more base hits than I would realistically get in a game, and I'm actually getting much more realistic results with the cursor. Regardless of if you don't like it or not, it's the most realistic. It's not like you're getting WAY too many hits in a game....but....let me just put it this way:

                      Zone: my scores: 14-3, 12-4, 9-2

                      Cursor: my scores: 3-2, 9-8, 8-5

EDIT: By the way, I'm using Veteran, Sim pitching, 3D cursor, fish eye cam for pitching.

zone works fine for me, I use generated pitch count so that makes it harder.
