People who use generated pitch counts

I use "random" and the pitchers seem to tire out way too fast. Edit you pitchers stamina ratings:

    Starters: A+
    Long Relief: B+
    Middle Relief: C+

Thanks for the tip Heelfan. Do you need to change the CPU's pitchers as well?

I like the idea of pitch counts, but in the few games that I played with them, my pitchers tired ridiculously fast.

Im really not sure what your talking about, I dont use generated pitch counts and I will never, and my pitchers tire just fine, it all depends on how your pitching. I you get shelled dont think your pitcher is gonna last 8 inings if he's getting hammered. I played games where I have gotten shelled and depending who is on the mound, if I strike out like three players in a row or if I strike out like 5 of the next 10 batters my pitcher seems to keep some of his energy. So I reall dont see this problem at all.

Re: People who use generated pitch counts

I would say this would matter but it dosen't. I use generated pitch counts on random and even though sometimes my pitcher is at zero stamina in the 6th inning he can still go for a couple more innings. I used Garcia for Seattle at Boston and he pitched the sixth and seventh innings on zero and he struck out two, walked one and gave up a bloop single, thats it! When you run out it dosen't have a great effect.

Also pitchers DO NOT tire too fast in this game. Look at the pitch counts. By the 5th inning my pitchers have 90-100 pitches! The problem is that generated pitch counts start too deep in the count so that your pitcher is making 5 pitches to every batter. There should be a lot more 1-0 generated counts.

But like I said none of this concerns me because once you run out the damage is minimal and dosen't make that big if a difference. Try it. Don't pull the trigger too soon. Concentrate and hit those corners. You can always squeeze out another inning or so.

yes, pitchers fatigue correctly (using generated) if you go by the amount of pitches. Usually after 100, they are tired. Like mentioned above, they have thrown too many pitches by the 5th or 6th inning. If you don't use "Random pitch count" your fatigue shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah, Dude, that is why I said they tire too quickly with generated counts ON. If you want to know what I am talking about, just try a game with generated counts set at "Smart". If you have never used generated counts, and intend to never use them, then you are not qualified to respond to a thread that is titled "People who use generated counts".

Warner, thanks for the tip. I had been yanking pitchers when they were getting low. I didn't realize you could still use them when the tank was empty. I'll give that a shot.
