Re: Using prospects in Spring Training?
You can't use more than the 25 player roster, but there are no penalties(options) used for moving the guys through your rosters in spring training. Use the MINOR LEAGUES screen in the GM OFFICE/ROSTER MANAGEMENT screen. It's very easy. I just dumped all my sure fire major leagers into the minors and used my minor leaguers and switch between each game. A little bit of a pain...but the roster movement itself is VERY easy this year.

Re: Using prospects in Spring Training?
Thanks knight, I guess I just never thought of that!
I might be starting my franchise over whenever Acclaim releases their roster update, so I might use that technique....
I can't remember, does the CPU use rookies, etc in spring training? I was lazy and simmed my way through most of it.Comment

Re: Using prospects in Spring Training?
Yes, roster moves are easy this year... the bugs of last year's version appear to be gone.
Even if you leave your guys in the minors, they will gain Spring Training Player Progression points for you to apply. I finished my spring training, applied my points to my major's players, then hit the right trigger by accident and realized that all AAA, AA, and A players get points as well.
Only a couple of my minor league players didn't get points... they were both players that got moved around in the roster a lot... which makes me wonder if it isn't better to just leave the minors and majors where they are when spring training comes.I.E. if you want to use them and test them, put them in the majors or minor league division that you want them in for, in Spring Training, and leave them there until it's over. Just to be safe and get all your players their points.

Re: Using prospects in Spring Training?
Beastmaster...EXCELLENT pickup!! I had not even realized that. I was wondering why that screen stating that if I did not use all the player progression points they would be lost kept coming up.
