to me.. the timing hitting to be the most realistic... it may be easy .. but hitting is all about timing... and im not seeing anyting wrong with the results of the hit.. you hit early.. foul or pull the ball.. you swing late.. foul the other way or... go to the opp field... i dont see anything wrong with it.. seems real enough for me... so im happy...

For those of you complaining about....
zone hitting and the problems with it... have you ever taken the time to see what the hit chart says for each hitter?? if he is a up the middle hitter he will hit the ball primarily up the middle.. pull hitter pull the ball. ... i took the time to look at the hit chart for eeach of my batters as they came up to see where they will be hiting the ball most of the time... they did this very well.. you are all complaining aobut too much of this too little of that.. well it is all there right in the hit chart... look at it and see that maybe you have a lot of hitters who go up the middle more than you like.. i love every thing about this game...

Re: For those of you complaining about....
I'm really digging the game as well! However, I have yet to hit a ball down either of the lines. Not one ball hit to the 3rd or 1st baseman either. I've hit balls right at the left and right fielders, but never between the foul line and the fielder. I must say I have seen the cpu hit it there though. I'm also using zone hitting.
Has anyone else ripped a ball down the line for extra bases?Comment

Re: For those of you complaining about....
I've hit a few down the lines, including some embarrasing "nubbers" that I barely got a piece of and ended up safe on first.
One of my best down the line hits happened in my spring training games with the Braves. When I come to bat with J.D. Drew, the other team puts on the extreme shift, the Barry Bonds shift where they bring 3 infielders between the 1st and 2nd base bag. The first at bat, I sure enough pulled the ball and grounded out to the SS to the right of the 2b bag. However, in the 2nd at bat, I was able to tag a low and away fastball right down the 3rd base line which would have been impossible for the 3b to grab since he was basically lined up in the SS position. It was not a powerful hit by any means but the location made it very satisfying. This was all with 2-d cursor.Comment

Re: For those of you complaining about....
Heh....the reason I complain about Zone hitting is simple:
NO FOUL BALLS.
NADA.
ZIP.
Is that realistic? Don't think so!
Anyways, I do agree they did it alot better this year, but at the same time I'll stick with my 3D cursor. You can actually get foul balls with that. Not to mention that the foul ball usually goes exactly where you would expect it to off of the bat.Comment
