Re: For those of you complaining about....

Heh....the reason I complain about Zone hitting is simple:

    NO FOUL BALLS.

    NADA.

    ZIP.

Is that realistic? Don't think so!

Anyways, I do agree they did it alot better this year, but at the same time I'll stick with my 3D cursor. You can actually get foul balls with that. Not to mention that the foul ball usually goes exactly where you would expect it to off of the bat.

I think its pretty much established that cursors are the way to go with ASB this year. I hate cursors, but I'll have to try em. What is better, 3D or 2D? I mean in terms of hit variety (can you hit em down the lines with 2d?)

I hate cursors, too. But lately I've been using them to change up the pace. I'm tired of hitting the ball to centre on timing mode. I found that I'm actually better at cursor than I thought would be. It's not hard at all to make contact. It's getting hits that's hard. I find that with 3-D cursor you get more hit variety and actually more hits. You use the right stick to aim the bat to where you want the ball to end up. This is before the pitcher sets up (not like in zone where you aim and swing almost simultaneously). For example, you can hit a grounder down the first base line by pressing right on the right stick all the way. You swing like it's a 2d cursor and the "aimed" bat does the rest.

Another thing, do people actually watch the tutorials???? They're very informative. You can get batting tips, fielding tips, snap throws tips, etc.

Can you ever aim in a direction but have the batted ball go in another direction? In other words, how exact is it?

Also, the only thing I hate about cursors is I find myself more focused on the cursor than the ball. In zone, I really end up seeing the ball and concentrating on the pitcher. Cursor takes my attention away from this, but oh well.

Occasionally the ball goes the other way. But more times than not it goes where it's suppose to. For some reason I get more hits with 3-D cursor, too.

Add me to the list as well. I was really struggling with the 2D cursor. I was finally making contact, but everything was a pop up or dribbler. I was getting about 4 hits a game, and one was usually a lame infield hit.

I switched to 3D last night, and got 5 runs on 10 hits which was more than in any of my 20+ games with the 2D.

I also recommend turning off the strike zone and hitter aid. I find them more distracting than beneficial.
