    PITCHING QUESTION FROM A DUMMY

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS QUESTION. HOW IS THE "SPEED" OF THE PITCH DETERMINED? I HAVE BEEN READING POST HERE THAT SPEED IS A FACTOR BUT IS IT DETERMINED BY ME THE PLAYER OR THE GAME AND PITCHER RATING OR BY SELECTION ONE OF THE PITCH SPEED TYPE IN THE MENU.

The speed you set it on in the options, and the pitchers "velocity" rating both affect the speed of the pitch.

so if i want a "fast" fastball i need to go to the options menu and select sim and than if i want a "slower" fastball on the next pitch i need to go back to the menu and select rookie for slow--is that it?

                No.

You are not able to "take a little of the fastball" in this game. You set the pitch speeds at the start of the game and go from there. That is the one thing I like about MVP is the ability to put more or less on a pitch. Oh well everything can't be perfect.
