Jim416, that is a unique idea you have but should we really have to go to that length? The process should be a whole lot simpler.

And like bobcatgrad, I want to know why editing bat-throwing hand/trading/signing players in exhibition mode is not an option.

      Re: ASB_Man......rosters

They make roster editing difficult because they want you to buy next year's version of ASB and/or go and download roster updates. Why? If you were to just update your rosters to reflect the real life teams, you wouldn't really have the need to buy ASB06 if you were content with 05. And when 06 comes out, they'll stop releasing roster updates for 05 obviously.

It's just so that they won't lose sales. And from a business standpoint, I agree with their decision. Just put yourself in their shoes.

If that isn't the lamest answer I've ever heard. While reading your post, this is what I heard in my head.

"They make their product more difficult to use and less feature rich. Why? If you were just able to use features that other sports titles have (MVP, Madden, NCAA Football, NCAA Basketball), people would never ever buy the next year's version of the game.

It's just an evil conspiracy to sell more games next year. And from a business standpoint, I agree with their decision to dupe customers this year in order to build up consumer confidence and product demand for next year."

Honestly... how many people do you know say, "Hmmmm... Madden 2005 is coming out, but I think Madden 2004 is just fine for me."?

If their decision to drastically limit roster options is such a spectacular business decision, why does EA (the leader in sports gaming) give users such a large amount of options to edit rosters for exhibition and then take those rosters into Franchise/Dynasty mode?

I'm curious to find out if the roster update will include non-MLBPA players. I realize they can't use the real players' name but if they created his attributes and had us enter in the correct name, that would be nice. Scabs suchs as Kevin Millar, Kerry Ligtenberg, Cory Lidle, Shane Spencer, etc. will all be on major league rosters. Lidle I believe, is Cincy's opening day starter.
