I have not found BAvR,BAvL hitting stats yet. How does the breakdown of batting averages get left out of this game? Or have I not been looking in the right place? Also what is the pitching stat GF?

At the end of Spring Training, when you are given the option to add some points to your player's skills, they list the avg/pw vs lefties/righties at that time. Unfortunately it isn't listed in the regular scouting report.
You can also tell by the size of your player's cursor how he hits against that particular pitcher's handedness. -
