    OF throwing

Is there any way to take a step back on a flyball to build up momentum for a throw?

It can be tricky to do it manually, especially when using the fielder-cam and I'm pretty sure I thought I saw the CPU set themselves up properly to gun a throw into the infield before.

    Re: OF throwing

I've done it by hitting the button that corresponds to the base I'm throwing to. The fielder sets up and takes a small back step just as the ball arrives(future throws).
But this is where I've run into a problem quite a bit. For some reason when the fielder catches the ball instead of going into the throw animnation, they go into the squat animation first and then the throw follows not a big deal when a guy is on first but if theres a guy on 2nd or 3rd it can cost you dearly with either the runner advancing to 3rd or worse scoring from 3rd. Has anyone else noticed this or am I doing somewthing wrong.

Well I have only done the future throw option (cause I keep forgeting) twice. Both times it worked perfectly. In fact one time I had Beltron grad a short fly to center and nail a guy at the plate...it was sweet! No squat for me either time, though.

You might be holding the button down until the fielder grabs the ball. The throwing in this game is a little funky in that unlike most BB games the throw does not start until you release the button of the base you are throwing to. When I am running down a ball in the outfield I press (and release) the cut-off (white button) as soon as the OF starts moving towards the ball- and the OF throws as soon as he touches it. If you are holding the button down the fielder is going hold the ball until you release the button.

The great thing about furure throw is that it signals all the fielders to throw to that base. For example if you are controlling the RF and have fully pre-loaded a future throw to 2B, but the ball gets past you and the CF gets to the ball first, the CF will then make that pre-loaded throw to 2B..as soon as he gets to the ball.

The system works great- once you get use to it.
                Thanks for the advice.

It's more than possible that I'm holding the button down too long. I'll try it both ways tonight to see if thats the problem. Thanks
