    Can someone explain Smart Count?

My understanding is that it takes the hitters rating and the pitchers ratings/stamina into account. The other night I was playing the Cubs with my Reds. Maddox was pitching and he got a lot of 1-2 counts to start the at bat.

I've been keeping an eye on the pitch counts on today's games, and I think Smart count may surprisingly be sort of realistic. For example, Schilling had 109 pitches in 6 innings of work (facing 24 batters)

On average, pitchers were getting to 100 pitches around the 6th inning. Just keep it in mind when thinking about pitch counts.
