could do better with their scoring. In both MVP and ASB this year, a guy who hits a single with a runner on and then takes 2nd on the throw is credited with a double. Also, I like that they added the high throw/1B jumping animation, but if a runner is safe because of that, it should be an error, not a single!

In fairness, I think the High Heat series was the only one I ever played that got the first call correct, and the second isn't even in most other games. It just takes a lot away from the immersion when you know the game isn't being scored correctly.

The problem with those types of plays, is that the call is usually a judgement call made by the official scorer. If, in your first example, the runner was already headed to second, then it might be ruled a double (though more often than not, it's a single). Same thing with the high throw. If the runner would have beaten out the throw anyways, it's a single.

I do agree that there are often some scoring mistakes, but considering how complicated the scoring is in baseball, I'm willing to live with a few "oopses" every now and then.

For the most part, it looks like they've cleaned up most of the scoring errors. It is nice to see fielder's choices scored correctly instead of them racking up singles in improperly scored plays.
