Is rbi 14 a surprise to the show developers?

Was reading about this new baseball title and guess the show won't be the only one now for next gen. With the advertising of the show being on its own this year it kind of leads me to think they were surprised with the announcement as well.

I loved the classic rbi series and am looking forward in seeing what direction the game takes.

"The first and only Major League Baseball simulation for next generation consoles" is the tagline SCEA SD is using, and I have a sneaking suspicion the upcoming RBI game will either be a $5 XBL/PSN or f2p arcade-type game, mainly because of a) MLB advanced media is supposedly developing it (they made the MLB at-bat app and manage the MLB website and MLB.TV) and b) its also coming to mobile, which is a huge red flag to me.

PS4 might be a bit too high-spec for recreating this fabulous atmosphere.

But I have to admit the grass color looks much better in RBI baseball than in The Show.

Why would they care what other baseball games are announced? They are too busy to worry about what other people are doing

possibilities are endless though not to get anyones hopes up but I mean FIFA, MADDEN and some other EA tittles also have Mobile versions. That mixed with Alfonso Soriano taking in studio headshots in an MLB.com video for RBI baseball, you never know.

Sounds more like "The Bigs" arcade type of game to me,
overall though I doubt SCEA knew or cared if anyone else was going to make something

              I can't imagine they give a crap.

I am pretty confident that people who were considering wether to get an XBOX One or a PS4 have not decided on the XBOX One because now there will be RBI Baseball on it.

Maybe RBI's not even on SDS's radar now.
If you shoot Russell a p.m. & tell him what's going on with RBI
that might be the first they've heard anything.

Either way, SDS won't let RBI affect the way the Show is being developed.

Competition is always a great thing in the sports gaming world.

Even if it isn't high quality, like this game will likely be in my opinion.

I imagine it was a surprise in that they probably didn't know it was happening, but it's likely going to be a small downloadable title, that, while hopefully fun, won't in any way compete with what The Show is doing, so I can't imagine they're worried about it.
